Detailed Itinerary
Day 1
Nairobi Airport / Hotel – Tsavo East National Park
Early morning pick up from Jomo Kenyatta International Airport or your Nairobi hotel, then drive to Tsavo East National Park through Manyani Gate. Enjoy game viewing en route to the lodge, arriving in time for lunch and check-in. Relax before departing for an evening game drive. Look out for herds of red elephants, lions, giraffes, zebras, gazelles, buffaloes, waterbucks, impalas and many bird species.
Day 2
Tsavo East National Park – Tsavo West National Park
Begin with an early morning game drive followed by breakfast. Continue with game viewing en route to Tsavo West National Park. Arrive for lunch and check-in, then enjoy an afternoon game drive and visit Ngulia Rhino Sanctuary. Explore volcanic landscapes including the Chaimu and Shetani lava flows and enjoy views of Mount Kilimanjaro.
Day 3
Tsavo West National Park – Amboseli National Park
After breakfast, visit Mzima Springs to see hippos, crocodiles and fish in crystal-clear water, and view the Shetani lava flow. Continue to Amboseli, arriving in time for lunch and check-in. Later enjoy an afternoon game drive searching for elephants, wildebeest, buffaloes, gazelles, lions, cheetahs, monkeys and rare birds. In the evening, Mount Kilimanjaro may appear above the plains.
Day 4
Full Day Amboseli National Park
Spend the whole day exploring Amboseli National Park with morning and afternoon game drives. The park is famous for its large elephant herds, rich wildlife and magnificent Mount Kilimanjaro views. An optional Maasai village visit can be arranged at an extra cost.
Day 5
Amboseli National Park – Mount Kenya Region
After breakfast, depart for the Mount Kenya region via Nairobi. On arrival, check in at the lodge. Wildlife frequently gathers around the lodge waterhole and salt lick, including Cape buffaloes, giant forest hogs and many bird species. Weather permitting, enjoy views of the snow-capped peaks of Mount Kenya.
Day 6
Mount Kenya Region – Samburu National Reserve
After breakfast, depart for Samburu National Reserve via Isiolo. Enjoy game viewing en route to the lodge, followed by lunch and check-in. Later, take an evening game drive searching for rare northern wildlife species including reticulated giraffe, Beisa oryx, gerenuk, Somali ostrich and Grevy zebra.
Day 7
Full Day Samburu National Reserve
Spend the whole day exploring Samburu National Reserve with morning and afternoon game drives. A picnic lunch may be provided depending on the programme. Look out for reticulated giraffe, Beisa oryx, gerenuk, Somali ostrich, Grevy zebra, elephants, lions and abundant birdlife.
Day 8
Samburu National Reserve – Lake Nakuru National Park
After breakfast, drive through tea and coffee plantations, passing Thomson Falls and the Equator en route to Lake Nakuru National Park. Enjoy game viewing before checking in. In the afternoon, drive along the lakeshore to view flamingos, pelicans and other water birds. Look out for white and black rhinos, Rothschild giraffes and waterbucks.
Day 9
Lake Nakuru National Park – Masai Mara National Reserve
After breakfast, drive along the Great Rift Valley, passing Mount Longonot en route to Masai Mara National Reserve. Enjoy game viewing on the way to camp, followed by check-in and lunch. In the afternoon, explore this wildlife paradise with chances to see giraffes, elephants, monkeys, leopards, lions, gazelles and many bird species.
Day 10
Full Day Masai Mara National Reserve
Spend the whole day viewing wildlife in Masai Mara National Reserve with morning and afternoon game drives. Search for the Big Five: lion, elephant, rhino, buffalo and leopard. Wildebeest, zebras, cheetahs, gazelles and many other African wildlife species may also be seen.
Day 11
Masai Mara National Reserve – Nairobi Airport / Hotel
Enjoy an early morning game drive before breakfast, then depart for Nairobi. Lunch will be served along the way. Arrive later in the afternoon and transfer to your Nairobi hotel or Jomo Kenyatta International Airport.
